Chinese miner Zijin Mining Group’s Serbian unit, Zijin Bor Copper, produced 5,188mt of copper concentrate in March 2021, setting a monthly record, as per local media reports citing a statement by the company.
Of the total copper concentrate output in March, around 2,016mt was produced at the Veliki Krivelj mine, while copper concentrate production at Majdanpek mine and Novo Cerovo mine stood at 1,823mn and 1,003mt, respectively.
In the first three months of the year (Jan-March, 2021), the company’s total copper concentrate output stood at 15,082mt, while it produced 5.2mn mt of ore during the same period.
In March, the company had also announced that it plans to invest $408mn in the Bor mining complex in 2021. Initially, the company had decided to invest $360mn in the complex last year.
