Ukraine-based Zaporizhzhya Metallurgical Plant (Zaporizhstal) produced 327,000mt of crude steel in October, down by 6pc from 349,000mt in the prior year, according to the operational data provided by the company.

 

The company’s Pig iron production in October increased by 1pc to 399,000mt from 394,900mt in the same month last year.

 

Finished steel products output in October stood at 270,700mt, down by 8pc as compared to 294,000mt in the prior year.

 

In the Jan-Oct period, the plant’s crude steel production declined by 8pc to 3.10mn mt from 3.38mn mt in the prior-year period.

 

The plant’s Pig iron output in the 10-month period grew by 2pc to 3.68mn mt from 3.61mn mt in the same period last year, while its finished steel production stood at 2.63mn mt, down by 7pc as compared to 2.83mn mt in the prior-year period.

 

Zaporizhstal is one of the largest mills in Ukraine and part of the Metinvest group. The mill’s full capacity is 2,900mt per day.

 

The mill produces high-quality hot-rolled steel coils, hot-rolled sheets, cold-rolled sheets, cold-rolled coils of carbon and low-alloy steels, steel tape, black tin, bent profile.
