Yildiz’s Kocaeli cold-mill complex in Turkey has reached production volumes of 1.5mn mt of cold-rolled steel coils annually after two years of operations.
Steady performance and productivity were achieved during this period as a result of the cooperation between Danieli and the company. The complex was able to deliver zero waste since the start of production and a daily increase in throughput and quality.
The core of the production process is Danieli’s Turboflo pickling line paired with an Optimized Shaped Roll Technology (OSRT) cold-mill and followed by a continuous vertical furnace galvanizing line, a temper mill along with a batch annealing facility. Turboflo technology can process light-gauge strips at up to 450mpm and has caused a 5pc to 10pc decrease in energy use and a 10pc to 15pc increase in production.
