Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine Group has acquired SEI.L (Societe d’Équipement Industriel. Lietaert), a turnout plant in Paris, along with stakes in companies in China and Argentina, to expand its production capacity in the railway sector, said a company release.
The French railway is likely to invest heavily in its infrastructure giving an opportunity to the company as a local producer to cater to the growing demand for turnouts in the next ten years.
Voestalpine has also bought stakes in Sanjia Turnouts giving an access to construction of tram and subway system projects in China. The acquired stake in Sistemas Ferroviarios Argentinos SRL in Argentina is likely to increase Voestalpine’s competitiveness in the Argentinean market.
Voestalpine caters to the the automotive, consumer goods, aerospace and oil & natural gas industries.
