Indian aluminum producer Vedanta produced 549,000mt of primary cast aluminum in Q1 FY22 (ended Jun 31), up 17pc from 469,000mt in the same period last fiscal. Compared with the prior quarter, output rose 3pc over 531,000mt.
According to the recent production report, the largest growth was seen at the company’s Jharsuguda smelter in Odisha, India where production rose 34pc in the quarter to 267,000mt over 199,000mt in the prior year period.
Vedanta also produced 28,000mt of copper cathode in Q1 FY22, up 65pc from 17,000mt produced in the same quarter last fiscal.
