Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has voted in favor of imposing an anti-dumping (AD) duty on imports from Ukraine, South Korea, and Russia and countervailing duty (CVD) on the latter two countries for certain carbon alloy steel products.

USITC noted in a statement on Aug 2 that these countries were selling seamless carbon and alloy steel (other than stainless steel) standard lines and pressure pipes at less than fair market values, therefore affecting specific domestic industries. Products include pipes and redraw hollows that are less than or equal to 404mm in diameter.

The commission’s investigative report in this matter will be available publicly by Sep 7.
