The United States’steel imports fell by 29.4pc in Nov to 1,398,309mt from the prior month, on decrease in imports of blooms, billets and slabs. The country had imported 1,983,319mt of steel products in October.
Imports of blooms, billets and slabs halved in November 2019 to 207,823mt, from 418,908 in the prior year period and wire imports fell by 62.3pc to 39,115mt from 103,860mt, according to the data by the US Census Bureau
Imports from Russia into the US declined the most. Russia exported 41,020mt in Nov, lower by 83pc from 2,44,594mt in November 2018. Brazil and Germany’s exports to the US fell by 84pc and 47pc, respectively, to 10,176mt and 59,218mt from the prior year.
