US stainless steel exports around the world decreased on an annual basis in November by 56pc to 71,815mt, with Canada- and South Korea-bound exports recording the steepest declines.
Through the first 11 months of 2019, exports fell by 41.4pc to 308,583mt from 599,482mt during the same period a year earlier.
Canada imported 3,472mt of US stainless steel in November 2019, while South Korea imported 2,932mt. Exports to Canada declined by nearly 83pc through the first 11 months of 2019 to 40,871mt from 240,045mt during the same 11-month period one year earlier.
Stainless steel scrap exports to China declined substantially by nearly 97pc from 39,758mt through the first 11 months of 2018 to 1,009mt between January and November 2019.
US stainless steel scrap exports to India, however, rose by nearly 20pc to 95,845 between January and November 2019 from 77,403 in during the same 11-month span in 2018.
