The US Department of Commerce imposed countervailing (CV) duties on import of utility-scale wind towers (UWTs) from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Canada, in an order published on Monday.
Commerce determined that countervailable subsidies were provided to exporters and producers of UWTs from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Canada between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2018.
The agency, in its preliminary report, calculated the rate for the individual suppliers from these three countries and has implemented an all-others rate for this specific product. Any producer who supplies UWTs from these countries will now be subject to the following CV duties:
Country | Producer | CV Subsidy |
Indonesia | PT Kenertec, All Others | 5.9(Ad-valorem) |
Vietnam | CS Wind, All others | 2.84 |
Canada | Marmen, All others | 1.18 |
