The US Department of Commerce has revised countervailing duties (CVD) on collated steel staples from China.

The CVD on collated steel staples was first issued by Commerce in November 2019. However, the agency adjusted these duties to exclude steel hog rings based on comments it received from interested parties, it said in an order on Monday.

Under the revised order, Commerce reiterated that collated steel staples remained a critical import from China, and because of the COVID-19-related lockdowns in China earlier this year, the agency had to rely on the facts submitted by interested parties as well as exporters to verify the data for revision.

Based on this data, Commerce revised CVD rates on Zhejiang Best Nail Industrial and companies falling under the “all others” category to 12.32pc. The revised CVD for two other companies—Hai Sheng Xin Group and Ningbo Deli Stationery—stood at 192.64pc.
