US Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a final countervailing duty (CVD) order for Mexican standard steel welded wire mesh.

On Apr 5, the ITC notified Commerce of its final determination in an investigation that set preliminary duties in December 2020. ITC determined that imports of wire mesh originating from Mexico are materially injuring the US industry. CVD duties will be assessed on unliquidated entries of Mexican wire mesh imported and withdrawn from warehouses for consumption on or after December 3, 2020.

Commerce has set the CVD definitive rates at 102.1pc for Deacero, 1.03pc for Aceromex, and 1.03pc for all other importers.

All rolled wire mesh is included in the scope, regardless of length, along with most of the products covered under the HT codes 7314.20 and 7314.39. Galvanized or epoxy coated wire mesh is excluded from the CVD scope.
