The US Department of Commerce has levied countervailing (CV) duties on eight Chinese steel companies exporting aluminum foil to the US.
In an order published this week, Commerce said it determined that countervailable subsidies are being provided to these companies. It levied CV duties ranging from 17.04 – 48.26pc on the parties for shipments from August 2017 to December 2018 with the rate increasing for most companies for shipments made in 2018, when the US-China tariff wars began.
The companies asked to pay duties to continue trading with the US are listed below with the rate of countervailable subsidies.
