Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Index for Hastelloy C increased to $4.711/lb delivered processor yard on Thursday but fell for Hastelloy X to $2.644/lb for single truckload. 

 

The indexes for most grades in the Inconel series declined except Inconel 617, which rose to $2.75/lb delivered. The index for Inconel 600 dropped to $3.30/lb delivered, fell for Inconel 601 to $2.75/lb delivered, decreased to $3.211/lb delivered for Inconel 625 Vac and fell for Inconel &18 Vac to $2.978/lb on Thursday. 

 

The official LME nickel cash contract closed Thursday at $12,760/mt, down by $140/mt from Wednesday.

 

The high-temp alloys market has remained slow to open after the lockdowns related to COVID-19 and market participants are still seeing lower than usual numbers on the 718 vac against the nickel market. However, processors anticipate some rise in numbers as the market gradually opens back up.
