The US Department of Commerce has issued final countervailing duties (CVD) for certain cold-rolled steel flat products from South Korea for the period of review (POR) from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018.
In a notification on Jul 22, Commerce noted that an investigation revealed some South Korean producers had received unfair subsidies for the subject merchandise exported to the US during the POR.
Commerce has therefore imposed a final CVD of 0.51pc on Hyundai Steel and 9.18pc on Dongbu Steel, Dongbu Incheon Steel, and 1.93 for companies not individually reviewed.
Commerce intends to instruct Custom Border Protection (CBP) to collect cash deposits of the estimated CVD in the amounts listed above and for companies not individually reviewed, CBP is instructed to continue to collect cash deposits of estimated CVD at the most recent all others rate.
