Construction spending in the US during February was calculated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of $1.5tn, up by 5.3pc from the SAAR of $1.44tn in February 2020, according to the US Census Bureau data. However, compared to January, the SAAR was 0.8pc lower.


In the first months of 2021, building expenditure in the US stood at $213.2bn, up by 4.9pc from $203bn in the same period last year. 


Private construction spending SAAR fell by 0.5pc $1.16tn in February against January, with residential construction down 0.2pc at SAAR of $717.9bn. Public construction also declined by 1.7pc to a SAAR of $357.4bn.
