The US Department of Commerce issued preliminary antidumping determinations against five Mexican firms for shipping carbon and certain alloy steel wire rods in the US.
The five companies—Deacero, Ternium Mexico, ArcelorMittal Mexico, Grupo Villacero, and Talleres y Acero—were sanctioned with a weighted-average dumping margin of 6.7pc. Other producers or exports will continue being assessed for cash deposit antidumping duties amounting to 20.11pc.
The cash deposit requirements will be effective upon publication of the notice of final results within a 120-day period.
Per the HTTSUS codes provided in the order, the general customs value of the product under discussion was near $4.5mn in 2018, about 67pc of which was imported in Q4, and $6.4mn in the January to October 2019 period.
