Turkey exported 2.31mn mt of rebar in the first four months of 2021 compared with 1.94mn mt in the same period last year, according to statistical source SteelData.
Long product shipments from Turkey to Israel increased by 26pc to 343,000mt during the period under review and decreased by 21pc to 311,500mt to Yemen.
Rebar export from Turkey to Singapore reached 298,000mt during January-April 2021 versus 131,000mt during the same period last year.
Peru remains a significant importer of Turkish steel with rebar shipments at 195,000mt in the first four months of this year compared to 19,000mt during the same timeframe a year ago.
Turkey exported 107,000mt of rebar to Brazil, while there was no supply to this country in January-April 2020, according to SteelData.
Long product shipments from Turkey to Hong Kong and Jamaica rose by 53pc and 100pc to 153,000mt and 80,000mt, respectively, during the period under review. Exports to the USA dropped by 63pc to 75,000mt.
The country’s rebar exports to Iraq and Senegal increased by 94pc and 42pc to 53,000mt and 47,000mt, respectively.
In April 2021, total rebar exports from Turkey stood at 643,000mt compared to 390,000mt in the same month last year.
