Turkey’s ferrous scrap imports from Netherlands for Nov 2019 increased to 3.6mn mt, 43pc up from 2.1mn mt in the prior year. The Nov 2019 imports rose by 158pc, from 1.4mn mt in the prior month, according to Davis Index analysis.
Turkey’s imports of ferrous steel scrap during Jan to Nov 2019 were 2.3mn mt, up by 1.6mn mt from the prior year period. Increase in the demand for finished steel drove the imports higher and ferrous scrap prices by $40-50/mt in November 2019.
