The daily Davis Index for Turkish imports of US-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was unchanged at $285/mt cfr on Wednesday due to a lack of deals.
Negotiations remain slow in the Turkish ferrous scrap market as most mills are not interested in purchases. However, some cargoes are still available from the USA and the Baltic region at $286-288/mt cfr for HMS 1&2 (80:20).
The most recent deals in Turkey were closed at $285/mt cfr for US and Baltic-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) at the end of last week. The market has been quiet since then.
The steel product market also remained flat with the daily domestic rebar spot prices remaining unchanged at TRY3,810-3,860/mt ex-works, including 18pc VAT, on Wednesday, while exported rebar prices held at $440/mt fob.
