The daily Davis Index for Turkish imports of US-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was unchanged at $484.89/mt cfr on Wednesday amid a quiet market.
Negotiations were slow in the Turkish imported scrap market ahead of the Democracy and National Unity Day on July 15. Turkish mills require 10-20 deep-sea cargoes for August shipment, but they expect a further price decrease as they receive enough offers.
The most recent transactions in the country were fixed at $485/mt cfr for HMS 1&2 (80:20) from the USA and at $489/mt cfr for HMS 1&2 (95:5) from Canada.
Spot rebar prices in the Turkish domestic market were flat at TRY7,250-7,450/mt ex-works, including 18pc VAT, on Wednesday.
