Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The weekly Davis Indexes for DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) in Turkey were unchanged on Thursday at TRY1,968/mt ($282/mt) delivered and at TRY1,855/mt ($265/mt) delivered, respectively.

 

Most Turkish mills opted to hold their purchase prices at current levels for local material this week, despite a significant uptrend in deal prices for imported scrap. 

 

Colakoglu Metalurji is purchasing DKP grade at TRY1,975/mt delivered and extra grade at TRY1,830/mt delivered, while Diler Demir has held its buying prices for the two grades at TRY1,920/mt delivered and at TRY1,820/mt delivered, respectively.

 

Erdemir is still paying TRY2,025/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY2,020/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir’s prices remain unchanged at TRY1,885/mt delivered for DKP grade and at TRY1,880/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

Kardemir has also kept its purchasing prices unchanged for DKP grade at TRY2,095/mt delivered and for extra grade at TRY1,935/mt delivered.

 

Purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap in Izmir are also unchanged at $270/mt delivered.
