The weekly Davis Indexes for DKP scrap (equivalent to bonus grade) and for extra grade scrap (equivalent to HMS 1&2 [85:15]) in Turkey both increased by TRY52/mt ($8/mt) to TRY1,927/mt delivered and to TRY1,817/mt delivered, respectively on Monday.

 

Prices for domestic ferrous scrap continued increasing in the Turkish market last week on rising demand and higher deal prices for imported material.

 

Colakoglu Metalurji and Diler Demir Celik both raised their purchase prices by TRY40/mt. They are paying TRY1,920/mt delivered and TRY1,880/mt delivered, respectively, for DKP grade, and TRY1,795/mt delivered and TRY1,770/mt delivered, respectively, for extra grade.

 

Erdemir increased its purchase prices by TRY70/mt to TRY1,960/mt delivered for DKP grade and to TRY1,955/mt delivered for extra grade, while Isdemir lifted them by TRY85/mt to TRY1,835/mt delivered for DKP grade and to TRY1,830/mt delivered for extra grade.

 

Kardemir is paying TRY2,075/mt delivered for DKP grade and TRY1,915/mt delivered for extra grade, increasing by TRY100/mt up from last Monday.

 

In Izmir region, purchase prices for shipbreaking scrap went up by $8 to $258/mt delivered over a week.
