Turkey’s passenger car sales from Jan-Aug rose to 391,392 units, up by 23pc from a year ago, according to data released by Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD).
Light commercial vehicles sales jumped up by 28pc to 109,612 units in Jan-Aug from the corresponding period in 2020. Total sales including passenger cars and light commercial vehicles have increased by 24pc to 501,004 units in the first eight months of 2021.
In August, sales of passenger cars (PC) remained almost flat, up by around 400 cars at 44,372 units from a year ago. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales took a hit in August to slip by 20.2pc to 13,698 units compared to August 2020.
A drop in light commercial vehicle sales pushed the total sales (PCs and LCVs) down by 5pc to 58,454 units in August 2021 from 2020.
