Ferrous scrap imports in July increased by 52pc (60,146mt) to 174,819mt from 114,673mt in July 2020. 

 

In the first seven months of 2021 (Jan-July), ferrous scrap imports increased by 26.8pc (204,736mt) to 971,041mt from 766,305mt in the prior-year period. 

 

Thailand ferrous scrap imports from the US increased by 15pc to 46,647mt in July from 40,630mt in the prior-year period and increased by 208pc from 15,140mt in June. 

 

Similarly, ferrous scrap imports from Australia also increased by 25pc to 15,731mt in July from 12,612mt in July 2020, but declined by 49pc from 31,004mt in June, this year. 

 

Thailand imported 10,533mt of ferrous scrap from Japan in July this year, a decline of 65pc from 30,319mt in the prior-year period and 48pc from 20,150mt in the prior month. 

 

Ferrous scrap imports from Panama increased by 724pc to 10,354mt in July from 1,256mt in the prior-year period and increased by 29pc from 8,031mt in the prior month.
