Tata Steel BSL produced 1.14mn mt of crude steel in Q2 of fiscal 2021, up by 7pc over the prior year period, according to a company release.
With ramping-up of capacity utilisation of steelmaking and downstream facilities and achieving pre-COVID-19 levels, the company’s crude steel production in Q2 increased by 73pc from 0.66mn mt in the Q1.
The company’s sales volumes in Q2 rose by 83pc to 1.28mn mt from Q1, registering the highest ever quarterly sales. The sales volume rose by 23pc, compared to 1.04mn mt in the prior year period. The increase was driven by boosting domestic deliveries to 0.88mn mt, up by 150pc from the prior quarter and 11pc increase from the prior year period.
