Tangshan city’s local administration will eliminate 192 intermediate frequency furnace plants, according to the China Metallurgical News.

 

The Tangshan administration has issued an order according to which Tangshan Aozishan material company, Tangshan Fengrun plant, Tangshan Zhongdong steel ball factory, Tangshan Hogrun alloy casting, Tangshan Fendong Wear Resistance Material and Tangshan Ciyogncheng Machinery Manufacturing will have to withdraw their production.  

 

The industrial city of Tangshan in Hebei province is one of the largest steel-producing cities in China. Air pollution in the city is at an alarmingly high level.

 

To reduce pollution level, the local government is shutting down outdated furnaces. The city government has also launched a plan to optimize and integrate of 13 steel plants with a total production capacity of 51.35mn mt steel. By now, many steel plants in the city have shifted outside the city, mostly to the coastal area.
