Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports dropped by 1pc to 291,903mt in April 2021 from 293,509mt in the prior-year month while it fell by 9pc from 319,658mt in March this year, according to customs data. 


The country’s highest ferrous scrap imports were from the US at 120,847mt in April, followed by Japan and Australia at 73,141mt and 18,572mt respectively. 


Taiwan’s aluminum scrap imports rose by 22pc to 9,140mt this April from 7,479mt last year, while it declined by 29pc from 12,845mt in March this year.


Again the highest imports were from the US at 2,252mt followed by Belgium at 1,007mt in April. 


Taiwan’s April 2021 copper scrap imports saw a 5.96pc rise to 10,440mt compared to 9,852mt in the same month last year and were up by 6.96pc from 9,760mt in March 2021. 


The country’s highest copper scrap imports were from China at 1,322mt followed by the US and Indonesia at 1,318mt and 1,260mt respectively in April.
