Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Sweden’s crude steel production increased by 10.4pc to 2.7mn mt in January-July compared to the same period in 2020, according to The Swedish Iron and Steel Association (Jernkontoret).


In July, the country’s crude steel production jumped by 66.3pc to 264,000mt compared to the same month in 2020.  Jernkontoret attributed the rise to increased productivity at Swedish steel mills to meet crude steel demand in the country, adding that production was now finally matching pre-pandemic levels. 


Jernkontoret compiles the monthly production based on data provided by 11 steel manufacturers in Sweden.
