Sortera Alloys has moved its manufacturing operations from Texas to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and will create around 100 jobs in the region over the next two years.

 

According to media reports, the company, which uses artificial intelligence to sort and recycle non-ferrous metals from auto scrap, will invest around $4.2mn in a new 40,000 sq. ft facility at Fort Wayne. The company aims to produce around 100mn lb (45,359.23mt) of recycled metal that can be converted to new high-value metals products.

 

Sortera began as a start-up in Fort Worth, Texas as a subsidiary of UHV Technologies. The company received an undisclosed investment from Chrysalix Venture Capital in October, after which it announced its move to Indiana, media reports indicated.
