Skoda Auto Volkswagen has resumed production at its plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The company has another plant in Pune which will begin manufacturing from June 1.
The company has taken requisite social distancing measures by mandating masks and conducting temperature checks. Work will begin with smaller teams at both the plants, said the company filing. The company’s plant in Pune has an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
Production at the Aurangabad facility has started production in single shifts with reduced manpower.
Before ramping up the operations to regular levels, the company will gauge the level of port-operations, availability of manpower, operational efficiency of inbound logistics and availability of parts.
