At least 90pc of the shipbuilding industry located in the Zhejiang province of China have resumed work, according to the government’s Metallurgical News agency.
Shipbuilding companies in Zhejiang – 34 marine construction firms were closed in February due to Covid 19.
Metallurgical News is now reporting that three of these companies have received new orders.
The delivery date of 17 vessels of 930,00 DWT, and 21 vessels of 101,000 DWT, are estimated to be two months behind schedule.
Deliveries of 41 other vessels on the order books are uncertain.
The companies are based in the cities of Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Ningbo, Taizhou, and Zhoushan in the Zhejiang province.
