South Korea’s new imported car registrations rose by 16.3pc to 172,146 units in the Jan-Jul 2021 period compared to 148,014 units in the previous year’s timeframe, according to Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors (KAIDA).
BMW and Mercedes-Benz led the registrations with 24.6pc or 42,283 units and 28.6pc or 49,253 units, respectively, in the seven-month period. Both brands together held 53.2pc of the market share during this timeframe.
July 2021 new car registrations improved by 23.3pc to 24,389 units against the same year-ago month but fell by 6.9pc compared to 26,191 units in June.
