Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

South Korea’s trade dispute agency organized a public hearing on Thursday to collect anti-dumping (AD) cases on imported flat-rolled stainless steel from China, Taiwan, and Indonesia. The agency is preparing for a final verdict scheduled for July after an investigation was launched against products imported from these countries in September 2020.

South Korean steel manufacturer Posco had filed the complaint alleging dumping by its international competitors in July 2020. An initial decision in February found that flat-rolled SS products from these three countries were imported at below-market rates, injuring domestic producers.

South Korea will possibly impose approximately 49pc, 29.68pc, 9.2-9.51pc anti-dumping duty on Chinese, Indonesian and Taiwanese imports, respectively, if the decision is approved.
