Russia unwrought aluminum exports jumped 50pc in H1 to 1.62mn mt from 1.08mn mt in the same period of the year prior, while exports of unwrought copper fell 2pc to 317,508mt from 323,745mt within the same time frame, according to the country’s Customs data.
Unwrought aluminum exports from the country also rose 56pc in June to 388,420mt from 248,416mt, unwrought copper exports, however, fell 28pc to 54,157mt from 75,074 in the same period.
Turkey was the largest importer of unwrought aluminum from the country, with a 30pc increase to 83,930mt in June from 64,577mt in the same month last year. Japan followed next recording a 352pc surge to 65,543mt in June from 14,508mt in June 2020.
China was the largest importer of unwrought copper from Russia, even though volumes were down 3pc to 23,949mt in June from 24,799mt in the same month of last year. Germany was in second place, with a 116pc increase to 12,377mt from 5,725mt within the same period under review.
