Russian recyclers exported 2.10mn mt of ferrous scrap in January-June 2021 compared to 2.17mn mt in the same period of 2020, according to Russian Customs data.

 

In June 2021, scrap exports from Russia totaled 479,000mt, 4pc down from the same month a year ago. The main outlet was Turkey, where shipments dropped by 21pc to 262,000mt.

 

Scrap export from Russia to Belarus increased by 38pc to 93,000mt and decreased to South Korea by 32pc to 39,000mt.

 

Ferrous scrap imports to Russia rose by 80pc to 425,000mt in January-June 2021, according to Customs data. The main supplier was Kazakhstan.
