Russia’s unwrought aluminium exports rose by 13pc to 239,084mt in March 2020, from a year ago. Exports in March alone constituted 50pc of the country’s aluminium exports in the first quarter of 2020. Exports, however, dropped by 34pc in the first quarter from the prior-year quarter. The Netherlands and Japan remained the top importers of aluminium from Russia. Imports into Turkey from Russia soared by 363pc.

 

Russia’s exports of refined copper, however, dropped in March by 45pc to 34,200mt from a year ago. Exports fell by 22pc to 152,192mt in the Jan-Mar quarter from the prior-year quarter. Imports from China dropped by 77pc from March 2019, and by 81pc from Germany during this time. Russia’s refined copper, however, found buyers in the Netherlands and Turkey where imports rose by 97pc and 68pc in March, from a year ago.
