The weekly Davis Index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) or A3 scrap increased by $10/mt to $475/mt fob Baltic Sea and by $3/mt to $473/mt fob Black Sea on Monday amid further bookings.
Russian ferrous scrap exporters sold several cargoes last week at higher prices on strong demand from Turkey. A St Petersburg supplier closed a deal at $510/mt cfr Turkey in the middle of last week, while two other recyclers from the same area had sold the material at $506.50/mt and at $507/mt cfr, respectively. An exporter from Rostov-on-Don sold A3 at $495/mt cfr Turkey.
Offers from St Petersburg moved to above $520/mt cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 (80:20) and were above $500/mt cfr for A3 scrap from Rostov-on-Don but demand in Turkey weakened on Monday as most mills stepped back.
Collection prices for ferrous scrap rose in Russia due to an uptrend in the export market. Thus, the weekly Davis Index for A3 scrap increased by RUB1,150/mt to RUB26,275/mt delivered St Petersburg dock and by RUB1,075/mt to RUB24,325/mt delivered Rostov-on-Don dock.
