Rusal’s primary aluminum production in the first six months of 2020 remained unchanged at 1.8mn mt from H1 2019. 

 

The Russian firm indicated in its interim results for H1 2020 that alumina production rose by 4.5pc to 4mn mt in H1 2020 from 3.8mn mt during the same period in 2019.  However, sales of primary aluminum and alloys dipped by 4.4pc to 1.8mn mt in the first six months of the year from 1.9mn mt in H1 2019. 

 

In the first half of 2020, Rusal’s revenue dropped by 15.2pc to $4.02bn from $4.74bn in H1 2019, while its adjusted EBITDA fell by 58.5pc to $219mn from $528mn during the same period under comparison. 

 

The company’s Q2 2020 primary aluminum output also declined by 1.2pc from the prior-year period.
