Rusal’s American subsidiary has entered into supply agreements with two Mexican aluminum producers for the former’s green aluminum products.
According to media reports, two Mexican downstream producers, Almexa and Cuprum, have signed supply contracts with Rusal America for 20,000mt per year of green aluminum, which could help both brands reduce their carbon footprints.
Almexa is an aluminum foil and sheets manufacturer based in the Federal state of Mexico, and operates three plants with a combined capacity of 70,000mt of downstream products annually. Rusal will supply aluminum slabs as raw material in addition to the recycled aluminum used by Almexa for the next 5 years.
Cuprum is a diecaster for various industries, based in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and deals in extruded products. Rusal America will supply green aluminum billets to Cuprum under the alliance for an extendable period of 2 years.
