Romania’s car production in September increased significantly by 56pc to 57,846 units from 37,153 units in the year prior, according to the Association of Romanian Automakers (ACAROM).
Of the total output, 36,416 units were produced at the Dacia plant in Mioveni, while 21,430 units were made at the Ford plant in Craiova. In the Jan-Sep period, the country’s car output stood at 305,073 units, down by 14pc from 354,812 units in the prior-year period.
Romania’s total car sales in September rose significantly by 80pc to 10,878 units from 6,046 units in the year prior. In the Jan-Sep period, the country car sales stood at 84,601 units, down by 32pc from 124,049 units in the prior-year period.
