Turkey exported 3.93mn mt of rebar in the first nine months of 2020 compared with 4.18mn mt in January-September 2019. The negative dynamics were attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and global safeguard measures.
Yemen and Israel were the key destinations for Turkish rebar, according to statistical source SteelData, with shipments to both countries increasing by 8.6pc and 1.4pc to 697,000mt and 636,000mt, respectively, during the period under review.
Rebar export from Turkey to the USA continued to gain momentum, totaling 362,000mt in January-September 2020 compared with 70,000mt in January-June 2019.
Rebar shipment from Turkey to Hong Kong rose by 94.8pc to 314,000mt from the beginning of this year, but decreased by 52.2pc to 234,000mt to Singapore.
