Australian Iron ore producer, Atlas Iron has signed a four-year contract with engineering firm Primero where the latter will provide crushing services for 2mn mt of iron ore per annum at the Miralga Creek Iron ore project.
The Miralga Creek mine is projected to extract 8mn mt of iron ore over a period of four to five years. Atlas Iron received all its permits to start developing the mine in June and will employ close to 300 workers at the site.
Primero is a subsidiary of NRW Holdings and has secured a similar three-year contract with Panoramic resources at the Savannah Nickel mine. Its services for Atlas Iron will commence from early 2022, the company stated. The contract with Atlas Iron is one of Primero’s six existing contracts with the miner valued at $155mn.
