Mining and steel manufacturing company, Prakash Industries plans re-start all operations from April 25 at its Raipur and Champa manufacturing facilities in Chhattisgarh, as per a press release.
The integrated steelmaker has a finished steel production capacity of 1.1mn mt. It produces wire rods, HB wires, TMT bars and structural.
Prakash also holds captive iron ore mines which feed its sponge iron manufacturing unit in Champa.
Earlier, two other major integrated steel producers like Godawari Power and Ispat and Sarda Energy and Minerals, also based in Central India, resumed operations.
Almost all secondary mills across India have halted production since the nation-wide lockdown announced on March 24 to control the spread of COVID-19.
