The Philippines’ vehicle sales in September slid by 22.0pc to 24,523 units compared to 31,820 units a year ago, but rose by 37pc from previous month.

 

Auto sales in the Philippines are likely to recover by the end of 2020 with a target of 240,000 units this year according to Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), cited local media reports.

 

Passenger car and commercial vehicle sales declined by 12pc and 27.7pc to 9,721 units and 15,967 units, respectively.

 

Car sales till date have dropped by 44.6pc to 148,012 units from 267,364 units compared to prior-year period. Passenger car sales slipped by 45.1pc to 44,079 units and commercial vehicle sales fell by 44.4pc to 103,933 units.
