Pakistan’s car production in September increased by 69pc to 12,117 units from 7,177 units in August and by 33pc from 9,090 units the year prior, according to the data released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (Pama).

 

New car sales in September stood at 11,860 units, up by 20pc from 9,885 units last month and by 9pc from 10,923 units in the prior year.

 

Pakistani auto companies produced 2,016 units of light commercial vehicles (LCV), vans, and jeeps, 19pc higher than August, and 29pc more than the same month last year. While the sales of the same grew by 38pc to 2,122 units from the prior month and by 137pc from September 2019.

 

Two-wheeler and three-wheeler output in September stood at 160,036 units, up by 14pc from August and by 25pc from the year prior. While sales for the same rose by 12pc to 157788 units from August and by 25pc from the same month year prior.

 

Bus and truck output in September declined by 8pc to 287 units from August but rose by 7pc from the prior year. Sales for the same increased by 36pc to 385 units from the prior month and by 46pc from last year.

 

Pakistan’s tractor production in September increased by 36pc to 4,555 units from August and by 13pc from the year prior. Tractor sales in the same month increased significantly by 50pc to 4,256 units from the month prior and by 13pc from last year.
