Stainless steel producer, Outokumpu’s cold rolling mill in Dahlerbruck, Germany has been affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in Germany and Western Europe.
The mill’s operations of producing precision strips have been temporarily shut down as water has seeped into its operating lines, it said in a statement.
Dahlerbruck’s production represents around 1pc of the total group’s production and the firm is trying to assess the damage and transferring quotas to other mills in order to mitigate the risk of late deliveries to customers.
