Montreal-based Nova Steel plans to construct a steel tube manufacturing plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky in response to growing demand from its automotive consumers.

 

The new facility will manufacture/cast auto parts, used in the production of SUVs and trucks. The site, scheduled to open in summer of 2021, will denote an initial investment of over $20mn and will create 50 jobs initially. Nova has not disclosed the production capacity of the plant as of yet. However, the steelmaker plans on two additional rounds of expansion, within the next three to five years, bringing the total investment to $70mn and creating a 110 jobs in total.

 

Nova Steel currently has 20 North American facilities, including one in Michigan and four service centers in the Northeast region that operate as under the banner of American Steel & Aluminum. It manufactures products for automotive, construction and mining industries.
