Russian steelmaker NLMK plans to supply around 2,000mt of steel to the SVEL group to produce six transformers by 2024.
The firm recently shipped the first tranche of laser-treated electrical transformer steel to the electrotechnical equipment producer for their Krasnoyarsk Hydro Power Plant.
NLMK noted in a press release on Monday that the steel will help reduces some specific magnetic losses in the transformers by almost 15pc compared to other commercial grades.
the Krasnoyarsk HPP near Divnogorsk supplies power to the aluminum smelter in the area. NLMK produces close to 13.3mn mt of steel and more than 6.1mn mt of rolled products annually.
