Pakistan automobile sales increased by 114pc to 24,918 units in July, according to the data released by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA). Sales volumes rose due to the government’s auto-buyer friendly policy. From June, auto sales in July increased by 87pc. 


In July 2021, car sales reported at 20,669 units, up by 104pc from 10,123 units in the prior-year driven by pent-demand after COVID-19 lockdown and the new auto policy. In FY2022 budget, the government has offered incentives for the auto sector by reducing their tax rates, which helped carmakers cut prices and encourage sales. 


Notably, sales of trucks, buses, jeeps, tractors, and pickups increased in July, whereas, two and three-wheeler sales declined.

Total sales of buses and trucks segment improved to 343 units in July 2021 as compared to 255 units in the prior-year.


Sales of jeeps observed a threefold rise to 1,200 units from 403 sold in July 2020.


Pak Suzuki Motor’s sales rose by 204pc to 15,181 vehicles in July, up from 4,991 units in the previous year.
