Hudbay Minerals has received the final permit for the development and operations of the Pampacancha copper deposit in Peru after the Peruvian government completed a due diligence process.

The company now needs to complete some individual land user agreement to get full access to the site, it said in a media statement on Monday.

Although some pre-development activities like long-haul road construction and site preparation work had started at the beginning of this month, the Canadian miner will begin pre-stripping activities once it receives the land user agreements, it stated.

According to the company’s estimates, Pampacancha has total measured and indicated resources of 294.4mn mt consisting of copper graded at 0.20pc
